Diamond with harness on for first time

Lovely pony just starting here to learn about harness and driving.

Diamond is 5 and has been ridden,

so having lunged her in a roller yesterday and no problems there , harness on today and just walking on long reins.

Fudge driving again this week

Fudge used to drive in pair also been lead of team but not had time to do anything with him for a long time ,so nice to see him doing something again. Aggie has been long reining him once a week this year and getting on well with him, so now we’ve started we must keep it up even if it’s only once a week

Prince Philip

It has been such an honour to know the Duke of Edinburgh, even in a small capacity.
3 Prerecorded videos have been on tv this week and 4radio interviews and this morning a live interview on bbc1 and to top it all I’ve been invited by the Lord lieutenant to a memorial service in Swansea tomorrow. I hope all the publicity will encourage more people into the sport of carriage driving.
I love the sport, it is my life, and I owe it all to him!

Agility training

Suitable for all shapes and sizes, agility training is a fun activity for people and horses or ponies of all ages, to learn to work together. In the picture we see big and small, adults and children. All able to take part.

All welcome, just book in advance. To make use of our facilities. A list of dates will be posted on FB page South Wales Horse Driving Trials and South Wales Carriage Driving Centre

Would you like to join in? But haven’t got a pony, well then get in touch and hire one of ours. We have safe little ponies so that you can experience handling these beautiful animals while learning about them.

Issy

Stretching at walk after a bit of fun driving an obstacle. This is so important to lengthen all his top line muscles after canter and tight turns. Issy wasn’t always good at relaxing after the excitement of obstacle driving.

Doug

Doug is coming on well learning to pull the carriage. He is a great little fella and not struggling, even with Peter in the carriage. He is happily pulling and doing difficult turns.

Star enjoying obstacle practice

Daily driving for the liveries is through an obstacle getting them all more supple bending around the different shapes in a good forward rhythm. All the horses old and younge are having fun doing different challenges.
